Thoughts on Paradise?

A warm BC welcome to everyone!

First I’d like to thank you for taking the time to join us…much appreciated! Let me introduce myself: my name is Elly and I run a B&B at Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island. Please feel free to have a look at my website: http://www.lakebb.com/. There are tons of great pictures there. As you’ll see this is more of a retreat then you’re ordinary B&B. People can get their own suites, and we can accommodate up to 20 guests within our 3 buildings. We also host corporate events, concerts for charity, cooking competitions with area chefs and our own line of seminars designed to help you succeed in any area of your focus (http://www.smallseminars.com/).
Now enough about me. Let’s talk about this blog. I decided to create a blog (my first one) so we could all share our ideas, experiences, thoughts, adventures, feelings and recommendations about this beautiful place called Vancouver Island. We can talk about anything and everything.
I know one of my favorite parts about living here in Shawnigan, is that tight community feeling. I’ve travelled all over the world looking for paradise and finally found it right here. I’ve lived in a wide spectrum of places from the relaxing atmosphere of the Caribbean to the fast-paced flashy lifestyles of Hollywood Hills. But this will forever be my home now. Again, as I mentioned earlier, I think one of the big drawing points, to me at least, is the way people interact here. Warm, receptive, polite, interesting, courteous, considerate and open-minded (yet opinionated) are just some of the ways I’d describe our locals. And this is what I’d like to see replicated here in this blog. Let’s get some emotions going and your thoughts flowing. Let’s share with each other our favorite parts and are maybe not so favorite feelings towards this Island (without bashing BC Ferries too too much). And by all means don’t feel you have to be from here to participate; everyone’s welcome.
Thanks and can’t wait to get your participation!
